I looked down and saw water pouring out from inside the sink cabinet. This is the remains of the trap underneath the kitchen sink. It had a hole in the bottom, but when I put a wrench on it to take it off, it just crumbled.
Looks like I’ll be taking the family out to breakfast tomorrow.

I had almost the same thing happen just now. I have PVC though. The last “plumber” here used putty instead of compression gaskets to seal the joints.
Good indoor project for tomorrow.

Neat!

I’ll be replacing it with PVC tomorrow.
Ironically, I was going to go look at a scooter tonight, but the seller had to postpone, because he is a plumber and got called in for an emergency service call.

That is messed up! What kind of scooter?

I had something like that happen a couple of months ago, but it was the garbage disposal that was leaking.

Plumbing was part of my rating/job in the Navy. Here is a photo from my resume.

Piaggio Typhoon. My research tells me this is a good one for lard-butts like me. The seller seems really nice. The scooter sat for a while, but he got it serviced before putting it on the market. And brembos!

Ugh, that sucks. We don’t have a garbage disposal, so at least I don’t have to deal with that.

Yep! This bastard is getting replaced with PVC today.

The resemblance is remarkable!

The ad is obo, so I’m gonna try and get a bit off :)

That’s your duty as a Craigslister. Just don’t insult him with some obscure trade and $300. Lol!

No, no, no. If the scooter looks the same in person as it does in the pics, I’ll offer him a G.

Bummer!
I’ve had the exact same thing happen, then the tailpiece broke off the sink. Cleaning the trap turned into an all-day new drain project.

Ouch! Fortunately I just had to replace the trap. Took about 15 minutes and cost me ‘bout tree-fiddy. I spent a lot more time cleaning up the mess, and reorganizing all the junk under the sink.
